How to turn an existing presentation into a Coassemble course, and how to keep your wording exactly as it is.

Upload your deck to Create with agent and choose Verbatim when it asks how closely to follow your source. The agent builds a course of screens grouped into sections, keeping your wording as written.

Create the course with the agent

  1. From your dashboard, select New course, then Create with agent.
  2. Upload your presentation. PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx) and Apple Keynote (.key) are supported. For a PDF or Google Slides file, export it as .pptx first.
  3. When the agent asks how closely to follow your source, choose:
    • Verbatim to keep your wording exactly as written, which is the right choice for reviewed and approved material like product, compliance or policy content.
    • Structured to keep your content but reorganise it into a clearer learning flow.
    • Adaptive to rewrite and expand it into a fuller course.
  4. Answer the few questions the agent asks, review the summary, and select Build course.

Customise and publish

In the builder you can edit any screen, rearrange the blocks on it, adjust the design, and add knowledge checks or a quiz. You can also describe what you want changed and let the agent do it. When you're ready, select Publish, confirm, and use Preview to check it as a learner would.

Convert a presentation (Classic)

The Classic builder has its own converter. From the New course menu, open the Classic group and select Convert a presentation. Add your file, wait for it to process, then select Create course and Coassemble converts each slide into an editable screen. If there are a lot of slides, it may suggest ways to split the content. If prompted, choose whether to include images from your presentation.

A note on layout

Your text and images carry across, but Coassemble uses its own formatting system to keep courses mobile-responsive and accessible, so the layout won't match your original slides exactly, particularly for complex designs. Neatly formatted slides convert best.

How do I keep my wording word for word?

I have a course built in another authoring tool, not a deck. Can I bring that in?

Yes, if you can export it as a SCORM package. Coassemble converts packages from Articulate Rise and Storyline, Adobe Captivate and iSpring into fully editable courses, and lists anything that couldn't be converted.

Will my slides look exactly the same?

No. The text and images carry over, but layouts are adapted to be responsive across devices, so they won't replicate your original slide design precisely.
