What is Coassemble?

What Coassemble is, what you can build with it, how courses get made, and where training runs.

Coassemble is a training layer for the AI era. Instead of a separate platform people have to visit, it's the foundation that handles the whole training lifecycle: you create courses from content you already have or with the built-in AI agent, deliver them wherever your people are, and track how everyone goes, all on one foundation. What you build is made to last: it meets WCAG 2.2 Level AA and runs on SOC 2 Type 2 compliant infrastructure, so it holds up to IT and security review.

What does "training layer" mean?

Most teams end up buying separate tools for authoring, delivery, tracking, and onboarding, each with its own licence and little connection between them. A training layer puts those on one foundation, rather than a shelf of tools that barely talk to each other.

It also means training doesn't have to be a separate destination. You can share a course as a simple link, or embed Coassemble's authoring and delivery inside your own product, so the right learning reaches people in the flow of their work instead of behind another login.

What can you build?

Coassemble gives you a set of building blocks, and you can compose them into whatever training experience you need.

• Courses are the core: interactive content that someone works through and completes.
• Screens are the units a course is built from, grouped into sections that learners move through as chapters.
• Blocks are what a screen is made of: headings, text, images, video, audio, tables, buttons, accordions, checklists, process steps, flashcards, slideshows, embedded documents and question blocks. You arrange them on a six column grid, and every screen starts from a layout so it looks designed rather than assembled.
• Collections group courses into a path or program, like a new-hire journey or a certification track.

Each of these is also an embeddable component, so you can place them wherever your people already work and combine them to build the exact experience you want. For example, you can:

• Drop a single course player into an onboarding flow inside your own product
• Place a collection in a customer portal as a self-paced learning path
• Surface course, collection or user analytics inside your own dashboard
• Embed the course builder itself, so your users create and edit training without leaving your app
• Embed a single screen, either to build or to play, when a whole course would be too much

Because the pieces compose, the same building blocks can be a single shared course one day and a full in-product learning experience the next. People use Coassemble for employee onboarding, product training, customer education, compliance, microlearning, and partner enablement.

How do you build a course?

Start with Create with agent. Describe what you need, or point the agent at your own material, and it asks a few questions and builds a course you can review and refine. When you give it a single document or SCORM package it also asks how closely to follow your source: Verbatim keeps your wording as written, Structured reorganises it into a learning flow, and Adaptive rewrites and expands it.

There are other ways in, depending on what you're starting from:

• Upload a SCORM package to host it in Coassemble exactly as it was authored. To turn a package into an editable Coassemble course instead, upload it through Create with agent and it's converted into blocks.
• Start from scratch and build screen by screen, choosing a layout each time.
• Classic options: transform a document, convert a presentation, or generate from a prompt, in the Classic builder.

The agent stays with you after the first build. Its Chat tab takes requests, from a whole section down to one block. Its Review tab gives you expert feedback on the course, covering instructional quality, engagement and accessibility. Its Insights tab reads your course analytics, so you can ask where learners are dropping off and fix the screen in the same conversation. You can also connect an AI assistant such as Claude to your workspace over MCP and have it build for you from outside the app.

The builder itself is available in eleven languages, and the agent answers in whichever one you write to it in. You don't need a learning design background.

Courses built in the new builder have a rebuilt learner experience: one button drives progression, a bar shows position in the course, a sidebar shows the outline, and returning learners are offered a resume prompt.

How do you track results?

Coassemble shows you course views, completion rates, quiz results and course sentiment, and you can download reports as CSV. When you embed Coassemble in your own product, course events and tracking data are also available through the API and webhooks, so training data can sit alongside the rest of your reporting.

Is it enterprise-grade?

Yes. Courses meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA, and Coassemble is SOC 2 Type 2 compliant, so what you build clears IT, security and procurement review rather than stalling at sign-off. You can also export courses as SCORM to run them in your own LMS.

Frequently asked questions

Is Coassemble an LMS?

It can work like a lightweight one, tracking completions and quiz results, and it works alongside your existing LMS through SCORM in both directions: export a course to run in your LMS, or bring an existing SCORM package in. You can also go further and build your own LMS with Embed components, composing the course player, collections, and analytics embeddables into a learning experience inside your own product. What it isn't is a full traditional LMS with built-in advanced administration and compliance features out of the box.

Do people need an account to take a course?

No. Share a course by link or email and anyone can open it without logging in. You can also ask people to identify themselves with email capture first if you want to see who completed what.

Can I build training into my own product?

Yes. With Embed, you can put Coassemble's course creation and delivery inside your own product or platform using the API and embeddables.

Does Coassemble use AI to build courses?

Yes, and you stay in control of how much it does. The agent can build a whole course from a prompt, a document, a presentation or a SCORM package, generate individual sections, screens, blocks and quizzes, refine your wording, create images and add narration. None of it is take-it-or-leave-it: accept what it produces, edit any of it, ask the agent to change it, or skip the AI and build screen by screen yourself. The level of AI is always your call.
